Kupwara, Nov 8: Security forces on Saturday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, killing two terrorists during the ongoing Operation Pimple.
According to the Army’s Chinar Corps, which shared the update on X (formerly Twitter), the operation was launched following specific intelligence inputs regarding an infiltration attempt from across the border.
“Op PIMPLE, Keran, Kupwara: Two terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in the ongoing operation. Search of the area is in progress,” the Army post read.
Officials said that alert troops detected suspicious movement near the LoC and challenged the infiltrators, who opened indiscriminate fire. The troops retaliated, leading to an encounter in which two terrorists were killed.
“Contact was established and the terrorists were trapped,” sources said, adding that the operation is still underway to ensure the area is completely sanitized.
