Kupwara, 28 August : Local women from various villages tie “Rakhis’ to jawans from Kupwara Terriers. The festival of Rakshabandhan signifies the bond of love and care between brothers and sisters was celebrated at Patahirri Garrison with great zest & fuervour on 28 Aug 25.
Local women from Kupwara tied rakhis to jawans as a symbolic gesture of unconditional support, trust and affection. The jawans who are away from their families appreciated the gesture and expressed their gratitude to the women who came to celebrate this elegant festival with them. The jawans showed respect, presented gifts and vowed to stand tall in all odd situations to protect their sisters and consistently take steps towards women empowerment in Kupwara.
It is an event that goes a long way in strengthening the inherent bond among various cultures and people from different states of the country.
Such bonhomie sends a message that sisters across the country are praying for the safety of their brothers in the security forces, who are in turn guarding the borders day and night for their safety.
